Palisade Ribbon
Palisade Head Aurora on 9/7/2017 at 11:45pm
The aurora was predicted to rage all night, though a nearly full moon and positive Bz held back the display. After setting up at Palisade Head and only seeing a faint aurora oval, I decided to shoot star trails while waiting for something to happen. I didn't wait long.
After being joined by four other photographers at the rock wall, the aurora suddenly brightened and put on a nice 30-minute display before settling back to a faint aurora arc. That was it for the night.
